I am not promising that these will work to remove the skunk smell but here are some
popular home remedies said to reduce the smell of skunk spray. Remember time is key!
The longer the spray sits on your dog the harder it is to get off!!!
DON'T USE TOMATO JUICE! IT DOESN'T WORK!
It may stain your pet's coat and the acidity is bad for your pet's skin
Before washing the area take paper towels and towel off any visably wet areas to prevent spreading the oil
Never wet your dog first this will only spread the oil, always apply application directly on dry hair
Use distilled vinegar to sponge the area that is sprayed to "neutralize the odor". Then use dawn dish soap to cut through the oil. Follow
with regular shampoo and conditioner or a great smelling aroma therapy shampoo!
Since a dog is usually sprayed in the face: Rinse the eyes under water. Finely mist a 50-50 solution of vinegar-water up the nose (make sure you don't aspirate your dog!!).
Mix 1qt hydrogen peroxide, 1 box baking soda and 2 tablespoons of blue Dawn dish soap. Sponge or spray on, leave on for 20 minutes, rinse and shampoo with usual brand.
